BIO COLOMBIA CAUCA Origin: Colombia, southwestern region around the Cauca River Producer: cooperative Cosurca Height of production: 1,400-1,900m Varieties: Typica, Caturra, Colombia Processing after harvest: fully washed (wet processing) and sun-dried Organic and Fair Trade certified Direct and fair purchased (FLO Fairtrade International standard). Roast: light-medium roast Top coffee with delicate notes of chocolate, citrus and berries. Delicious in filter and espresso, can also be used just for an americano. This coffee, from traditional Colombian varieties, is grown entirely organically and carefully processed (wet method) after harvest. This coffee comes from the Cosurca cooperative, from the Cauca region in Colombia. Corsurca is special because it tries to promote stability in this difficult region by actively, even activistly, promoting it. In combination with a strong commercial approach, this results in profitable top coffees for the producers. In this way, the heavy and unsustainable cultivation of coca (for the production of cocaine) becomes less attractive and the cooperative contributes to sustainable incomes and more stability in the region.
